Description

Session ID: 10117

Abstract: Some users in Procurement had the ability to manage user accounts in the legacy system, allowing them to grant and revoke Procurement-related access as needed. By default, they did not have this access in Oracle eBusiness Suite. To accomplish the requirement, the use of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) is necessary, as is the granting of a User Management role, configured for our purposes. This is known as Delegated Administration. The resulting setup now allows select Procurement users to grant and revoke (via end-dating) only Procurement-related responsibilities, freeing up time for the SysAdmin!

Objective 1: Inform attendees about Delegated Administration through the use of Role Based Access Control and how it can save time.

Objective 2: Describe the organization's prior setup and what was lost when we implemented Oracle eBusiness Suite.

Objective 3: Describe the necessary steps to allow users other than the System Administrator to manage user basic maintenance.

Objective 4: Show how security would not be compromised by using the methodology employed.

Audience: User Accounts, Help Desk, Trainer
