Abstract: This presentation provides two approaches to handling inbound vendor managed inventory (VMI) processes using JD Edwards. VMI can dramatically reduce your total cost of maintenance operations by ensuring inventoried parts are available as needed for 'break and fix' needs as well as for planned preventative maintenance.The first approach within JD Edwards relies upon standard functionality to hold inventory in receipts routing until it is issued to a work order. An evaluated receipt is then processed, potentially followed by a EFT payment to ensure a completely paperless procurement process.The second approach incorporates the 'Internet of Things' to 'smartly' understand when a part has been issued, and then to initiate one of a couple of JD Edwards approaches for completing the procurement process.We will highlight how One View Reporting and Watch Lists can compliment these processes.
